Hello Glendon. Ive taken your techinques to heart and im making money! Ive come across an issue. Im use dealing with low end items but now Ive come across a high end platinum diamond ring. Ive taken jewelry appraisers but there over to take item at exteremely low price or consign it for large percentage. I was thinking selling it on ebay or craigslist but worried be cheated by customer via false ebay complains. Also worried people on craigalist would trust buy high end jewelry or meeting with someone with something that valueable in my possession. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Huge fan, keep the good work!
Hi Glendon,My wife and I recently purchased your book,we are thinking about signing up for your online course,we have already purchased a few storage units, the things we really need is the best way to find the auctions, organizing our office and tax questions especially charitable donations, does your course get into these things more in depth than the book?
Thank You,Steve Butler
Steve,
Thanks for getting the book! My new coaching program goes into that and more! Anyone signing up for the coaching under the current training deal on this site, will be grandfathered in, I will be ending it in a few days. I will be making some big announcements next week, I appreciate the feedback!
Just got the book set last week and I must say they are the end all be all of this business . The A to Z book especially brings you so much info it should illegal !! The garage sale and craigslist books are also killers as well . All the books ARE A MUST HAVE IN THIS BUSNIESS . Thank you Glendon so much for these books and all your videos . You truly are a master of your craft .
i just started looking two months ago at your site on youtube. just lot my job and STILL ON workman comp and things are not pretty. i have watched and decided this is for me. i’m no stranger to hard work. i use to work on atm machines for the bank handling large sums of cash as a contractor. anyway, i tried to find some of these storage auctions on my own. THE STORAGE AUCTION LIST FOR CALIFORNIA IS HARD TO FIND. WHAT ADVISE DO YOU HAVE FOR THIS SITUATION.??. I also went to three different auctions to feel it out, watch people body language, to see what it really takes to bid, to see what tools i need and ask myself if i’m ready.. oh, i’m ready. i will start small and work my way up. oh yes, i c d games these people play and i see the big dogs. everyone seems to know them… I’m GOING TO GET YOUR BOOK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I’ M HUNGRY AND I’M HUMBLE TOO. HOLLA AT ME, BRO…
Call up every storage facility in your area and inquired that is the best way!
Thanks Bruce I really appreciate the feedback, I hope the books serve you well!!!
Hello Glendon,
I have been watching your videos non stop the past 2 days on youtube and got a few questions bout your training webinars. Do you still offer the Monthly payment plan if so where do I go to get started? Last question, our previous webinars available online to new subscribers?
Ragz
Hi Glendon,
I’m studying as I go. I watched your videos and purchased your books.( Making money A to Z, Pimping Craigslist, and Ultimate Garage Sale) However, Getting in the Black with Ebay is not available on Amazon. Can you direct me to purchasing the book? Also, I thank you for your straight shooting. Ed
I had to KILL that book some of the stuff in there could have gotten me sued! Thanks for purchasing the books my dude I really appreciate it!
I changed it up, since everyone has different requirements! I offer the ten hour block and per hour now -you can get it here- http://urbanpackrat.com/diary/storage-auction-coaching/ working on a big project for the end of the month!
Glendon,
I just ordered your A-Z book on Amazon. I’m anxious to give this thing a try! I’ve never been afraid of hard work and I don’t mind taking calculated risks with money. I have two main concerns. I only have a small truck and a very small garage space to work with. Will I do OK if I concentrate on smaller units for a while? Thanks for your advice!
Mike
Mike,
Thanks for the purchase! In the book I deal with that very scenario! Let me know when you get the book!

HI GLENDON
I RAN ACROSS YOUR YOUTUBE VIDIOS WHILE RESEARCHING HOW TO GET INTO THE BUSINESS. LIKE ALL FOLKS I WANT TO MAKE MONEY. I AM ALSO DOING THIS FOR MY KIDS. I AM AN HCTC PROVIDER. I TAKE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TEENS (BOYS) THAT ARE IN THE FOSTER CARE SYSTEM INTO MY HOME. MY JOB IS TO HELP THEM OVERCOME BEHAVIORAL ISSUES, BECOME SOCIETY IFFICIENT AND AS INDEPENDENT AS THEY CAN POSSIBLY BE.
I THOUGHT OF AUCTIONS AS A WAY FOR THEM TO LEARN HOW TO WORK, ORGANIZE, EARN POCKET MONEY, AND AQUIRE SKILLS THAT WILL AT LEAST SHOW THEM HOW TO WORK WITH OTHERS AND FOLLOW DIRECTION. BECAUSE THEY ARE MY JOB I HAVE FREE TIME DURING THE DAY WHILE THEY ARE AT SCHOOL TO ATTEND AUCTIONS. I HAVE A LOT OF MEETINGS WITH CPS, THERAPY, SCHOOL, DRS, SPECIALISTS ECT… BUT I HAVE THE LEEWAY TO SCHEDULE THE APPTS AROUND AUCTIONS. I LIVE IN AZ. ON ANY GIVEN DAY YOU CAN SEE PEOPLE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SELLING WARES. WE ALSO HAVE MANY FLEA MARKETS AND GARAGE SALES ARE A WAY OF LIFE OUT HERE. I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT WE AS A TEAM CAN GET RID OF THE STUFF.
ALL THAT BEING SAID I WRITING YOU TO ASK THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN OUT A UNIT. A LOT OF TIMES THE FACILITY DOES NOT WANT YOU TO PUT THE TRASH IN THEIR DUMPSTERS. DO YOU HAUL IT AWAY? DO YOU SUGGEST THAT I GET IN TOUCH WITH THE CITY DUMP FOR DUMPING COSTS ? IS THERE A FREE WAY TO GET RID OF IT? WHAT TOOLS DO YOU NEED? I KNOW GLOVES, GARBAGE, BAGS, BUT WHAT ELSE?
I HAVE A GARAGE WITH SOME SPACE. WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST FOR STORAGE? I READ THAT SOMETIMES YOU CAN ASK THE FACILITY TO RENT THE UNIT YOU BOUGHT. YOU COULD THEN CLEAN OUT THE UNIT AND TRY TO COMBINE THE UNITS WITH PROCESSED GOODS READY TO SELL.
IN THE BEGINNING I WILL JUST BE GETTING MY FEET WET WITH 2 TO 3 UNITS. I WILL BE LUCKY TO BREAK EVEN BUT AS I TOLD YOU THERE IS MORE THAN JUST MONEY IN IT FOR ME. IF MY BOYS GET PAID AND THEY LEARN AT THE SAME TIME THEN I AM STILL GETTING PAID. DON’T GET ME WRONG, MY NAME AINT BOO BOO THE FOO. I STILL WANT TO EVENTUALLY MAKE MONEY.
I AM THINKING OF BUYING YOUR BOOK. YOU SEEM TO HAVE MADE AND SEEN ALL THE MISTAKES AND YOU HAVE HAD ALL THE SUCESSES. IF THIS WORKS OUT FOR ME AND MY BOYS I WOULD LOVE TO SOMEDAY OWN A THRIFT STORE WHERE I CAN HAVE A WORK PROGRAM FOR THESE KIDS. A LOT OF THEM WIND UP ON CRAZY CHECKS SITTING THERE DOING NOTHING BUT …… WELL I DON’T HAVE TO TELL YOU. IF YOU WATCH THE NEWS THEN YOU KNOW. THE SORRY THING IS A LOT OF THEM JUST NEED SOMEBODY TO CARE ENOUGH TO KICK THEIR SHIT IN AND NOT ACCEPT THEIR BEHAVIOR. WELL ENOUGH, I AM PASSIONATE ABOUT THE SUBJECT SO I TEND TO GO ON, FORGIVE ME. THX FOR YOUR TIME
Glendon,
I got the A-Z book a couple days ago. I’m reading it faster than I read most things. LOL. I’ve done my calling and I have a handle on most of the local auctions coming up. The nearest one is next week. I’ll be there for sure. I’m just not sure if I’ll bid. I’ll observe and learn. If it looks like a decent unit is going to go really cheap, I’ll get in on the action. You gave a really good suggestion in the book about the small truck dilemma. I’m kind of embarrassed I didn’t think of it myself. hahaha. The warehousing space is something I’ll have to figure out a little later. This week I will be setting up the accounts you suggested (the ones I don’t already have, that is.) I did encounter quite a few people telling me they didn’t do auctions. For now I’ll concentrate on the ones I know are happening. My Mom is even wanting to get in on this! LOL. How cool is that? Anyway, I should easily finish the book before I hit the first auction. I have a lot of knowledge to take in this week. I hope you’re doing well.
Mike
Just whant to say i have bought your books Makeing Money A-Z with Storeage Auctions and Pimping Craigslist.
The book are very good have read them both over and over so now i think i can go to my first auction here in Lexington,KY and do good i hope like i said have read your books over and over and made notes. I have put up my own website rayburnscollectibles.com if you get time maybe you can go to it and tell me what you think of it and what can be done to make it better. I was going to ask you when i post on Craigslist should i tell them to go to my wesite and pay thro Pay-Pal is this safe can i trust Pay-Pal? I think this will give them a way to pay thro Pay-Pal but i will always be taking cash on hand too. I like cash in hand. If you can help with that ? would be very thankful.
Your doing a good job on the books and viedos.
Thanks Sam
Glendom

You are screwed! That money is long gone, unless it is still in the bank, if it is hire another lawyer and get your money!
Glendon,
Your site is great. Thanks for helping folks with this business, and also opening the eyes of the wannabes that it is not a glamorous business like the television shows make it out to be. What most folks don’t seem to understand is that the television programs are showing you the “rare” finds and not all of the nasty trash and junk that most of us sift through daily looking for those rare finds. The man-hours involved in cleaning out, hauling, sorting, storing and attempting to sell. None of that is addressed on these shows, and most of the wannabes are out there spending their hard earned money on storage units, driving the price way too high in their excitement to find riches, and it is hurting those of us that do this as a full-time business. Units that we used to pay 50-100.00 for are now going for 800-1500.00 and the return on investment is shrinking fast.
What needs to be pointed out to newbies is that everything they are buying at storage auctions is a gamble. 90% of storage units will not provide anything other than yard-sale worthy junk, and 10% will return a nice profit. Once they understand that, maybe they will stop driving the bidding on units to outrageous levels.
Now, for some good news. We recently had two great finds in the same week, and that is the exception rather than the rule. We paid 75.00 for a unit that was covered in 1/4 inch of dust complete with cobwebs. The unit yielded 3 nice antique furniture pieces, and about 3000.00 worth of estate quality jewelry. The second unit we purchased for 1.00, as the only thing anyone could see were about 6 mattresses blocking the entrance, so nobody bid. Four our 1.00, we found a nice refrigerator and 4 antique furniture pieces inside the unit behind the mattresses, so it goes to show that perseverance will pay off eventually.
We buy between 20 to 30 storage units every month, and we have been in this business since the late 70′s. The only thing hurting us now is the pie-in-the-sky television programs that are leading people to believe that they can get rich with storage auctions. Unfortunately, that is the farthest thing from the truth. While rare finds are indeed possible, they are not the norm by any means.
Thanks again for a great site, and I look forward to visiting regularly.
Joel
Joel,

Glendon
I was just wounding if you guy have ever found a dead body when hunting.
Just wondering how do we find out about the auctions in Orange County, CA. My husband lost his job and I am disabled and we thought maybe this might be something that could help us bring in some income. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
God Bless,
Susan
Other than dead animals, no and I so glad that never went down!!!
Call the storage companies.
Hi Glendon,
I have watched nearly all of your clips on you tube and attended a few auctions, bid on a few and finally won a unit a couple of weeks ago in Tennessee for $1150. As you say this unit was FULL from the Roota to tha toota!!! And it had some killer high end surround sound equipment in it from Martin Logan and the speakers were still in the factory boxes!!! There was a vintage 70′s dining room table with 6 chairs in it along with a bedroom suite made by Aspen Home with a retail of $7000!!! Not to mention a matching set of living room tables (end, coffee and sofa) with marble inlay made by Riverside with a retail of close to $3000!!! So I have an E-bay account where I have sold a few items (all under$100 except for 1 item) and I start listing the speakers. First the center channel speaker that retails at $1495 then the sub with a retail 0f $1100 and then the front channel speakers with a retail of $2100 then the CD player with a retail of $600. I listed 1 of the high dollar items per day with a few of the cheaper items. Well the center channel sold for $900 and I got paid via PayPal almost immediately and I shipped the next day, no problem. Then the sub sold for $525 and the winning bidder wanted me to hold off on billing and shipping because they were wanting the surround speakers too. The next day the CD player went for $257, billed the customer and got paid, no problem. Then the surround speakers sold for $1000 to the bidder that won the surround speakers. Sent the bill, got paid $1525 was in the process of creating my shipping labels and BOOM I get an e-mail from E-bay notifying me that my account has been suspended because I have been deemed a “security risk”. WTF!!! A security risk??!!!! Well, anyway I had already received payment via PayPal and my bidders started e-mailing wanting to know what was going on. I explained to them that I had not previously sold any high dollar items and my rating was less than 10 and I guess with the high dollar items it threw up red flags. I gave my bidders my phone number so they could call me and give me the chance to assure them that they will be getting their items. I called E-bay and they tell me that they have chosen not to do business with me and will not give me any reason other than I am a “security risk”. They also told me that I needed to refund my customers money!! BS I have talked with my customers and the money is being held in PayPal until they receive their items although I had already transferred the money from the center channel sale out of PayPal and withdrew the cash. Well now that this has happened I ordered and received your book this past Saturday in hopes of finding other outlets to sell my “wares”. I did get one sales lead from one of my bidders as far as electronics are concerned that I will use in the future. PISS ON E-BAY!!!!
ROBERT
