Just like everyone I saw the commercials, said cool commercials to myself and that was about it. It really does not hit you until you need it. I was working on projects all over town and some of my hotspots were getting very crappy in terms of reliability and outlet access. I just came out of a contract with Verizon on the air card which with junk fees is almost $70 large per month, but I missed my mobile connect….bad! What is the old saying “luxuries once tasted become necessities” But between two houses and internet bills for both, I need to pair down so the air card was out.
In a fit of disgust I fired Comcast, they went down all day and I had to go work in a Starbucks, nothing against Starbucks but it was not working for me. I saw a Clear side walk sign and went in to find out more. I researched Clear, just never acted on it.
The rep was cool and asked me where I lived, I had to use my in town place, the Stone Mountain address would not fly for their services ( I get 3 bars and about 2.5 mbs which kills the air card 380-750 kbs specs) in Stone Mountain.
I was in and out in about 10 mins, I bought the equipment, to rent it is double the cost of out right purchase. Ran some more errands and went home (East Lake) and I was up and blazin in about 15 mins. I could not tell the difference between my Clear and Comcast for me there it is just that fast. I got the 25 dollar per month special, so it was great all of the way around.
Remembering all of the crap I went through with Comcast on a so called plug and play deal I bought at Best Buy ( it took 3 hours to get it up and running) this was painless. We are entering the third month and not one issue. I can get on any where I normally go, today I kissed Comcast good by in the second house, I got rid of them the day they went down in East Lake. So I cut my communication bill by 200 bucks per month this year so I am happy as hell! I highly recommend Clear!
I put this out there for those of you that need a cost effective mobile internet solution, if it is in your area I say go for it! You can use it at home and out in the field, which is hot!
