Some units and people are more memorable than others this is the saga of one such person Mr Bigg Stuff. In the A we have a plethora of entrepreneurs. Everyone has a hustle, a side gig , catering, whatever and many have their own empires in this town. If you want to build or network your business, Atlanta is the city. It is very business friendly.
Unfortunately when a business goes bust there is nothing left but ash and dust from the remains of the once shiny now tarnished image of a dead enterprise…and a lot of shit in a storage unit or two or three. I have seen one person have as many as ten units! (no this did not go up for auction)
It was one of those not so cold winter mornings in Atlanta, it was a stacked day. There were auctions everywhere! I had made a decision Friday where I would attend my first auction. However things change. I needed stuff and the earlier I started the better my day would be.
I got Mr. Big Stuff’s three units in Dunwoody, I did not know all of these units were owned by the same person at the time of purchase. More often than not I would know before going to the auction how many units a person has on the auction block. As you can tell by this story that is not always the case, not even close.
This happens a lot (delinquent tenants have more than one unit) and if you do not buy all of the units of that person you can be screwed! Some folks do not want to share with you; they rather see you lose out than help you. If they know you need part two be prepared to pay out the ass for it! Yes, it is that type of business.
The weekend before was killer, we sold six sets of washers and dryers and all of the bedroom sets , dining room sets, coffee table set we had on the floor. We needed inventory like a crack head needed a hit. Sales were good and it was hard to keep up with the demand, many people crave good used stuff, just can’t get enough of it.
I had a lot of holes to fill, I came out to buy. In cases like this feathers get ruffled folks call you greedy, if they had the money they would do it to you. I bought six units straight and was keyed in on everything. If it was good I bought it.
Regular customers lose interest quickly when all you have is crap on the floor, there were a lot of auctions that week, but I wanted to give myself that secure feeling of knowing I was ready for the weekend, it takes the pressure off.
Storage auctions can be a rush in all aspects, from the buying, to the selling. I can’t count all the heart thumping moments I had at auction!
After the auction I called my guys and we started loading, once I got them started I could catch a juicy auction at 12, the beauty of being an early riser paid off this day.
I started to notice what was in unit A matched what was in unit C and as we loaded the items room by room it hit me, all of this stuff was one person! Oddly enough all of the units were in different names. I have seen it a hundred times.
People who need more than one unit and are running low on funds do this to take advantage of the dollar specials many storage facilities have frequently to drum up business. He head two 10 x 20s and one 10 x 10 filled from the roota to the toota.
His stuff was fly!
The fist unit had a custom made black leather sofa set with matching ottoman, adorned in a chrome nail head trim, hot , hot, hot! He also had oval partner’s desks; these two items got me what I paid for all three units. In the back was a brand new crystal chandelier in the box, a lady from Cumming bought it within fours hours of me putting it on Craigslist.
He believed in going big on everything, the house, the cars ( he had a Mercedes S 600 and a BMW 745 which is a little strange folks are usually loyal to one brand and with both cars close to are over a $100,000 you are blessed if you can afford one save two. He was a little egotistical, he had pictures of himself posing buy all of his toys ( looked cheesy)
I wished Mr. Big Stuff was a bigger man in stature, his clothing was tight, the Polo and other well known brands did quite well on eBay, his suits were a bust,( they were all bespoke) custom clothing is a bitch to sell, there are no sizes and you have to measure every aspect of the piece, very time consuming. Often not worth it, this guy was 5’5 and chubby as hell( okay morbidly obese), not good for the resale tip. You could use his drawers for curtain of a bay window! ( Why do you think I called him Mr. Big Stuff)
The dining room set was to die for! I have never gotten another set with seating for twelve, and the china cabinet. (yes it was a long ass table) I swear the way that they had that stuff stacked in there you had no clue to the goodies we found.
There was every type of electronic toy or whatchamacall it in the units, Play stations, 3 big screen TVs ( this was before flat screen became the rage, knowing him he would have them ) tons of accent items, pictures, a really groovy bar, chaise lounges and four bedroom sets, can you say score! All of this cost me $1895.00 definitely a steal.
Notice I said his stuff the wife left him and moved back to her home state. As she stated in an email she had enough of Atlanta and him! He was from what I could tell very controlling (his emails to her) , there was a lot of correspondence in the unit personal and business, to be simple he was an ass thru and thru, I know why too, more on that later.
Mr. Big Stuff was the former owner of a restaurant that I heard of but never got the chance to sample before it closed. The reviews were great; the food was great why did it close?
Mr. Bigg Stuff was pimping the hell out of the business. It is a case of greed gone wild. He used payroll money to pay his bills and credit card to make payroll-BAD VERY BAD- didn’t know you could pay a payroll company with your AMEX did you! He had the whole AMEX family green to black just the cards they had closed all of his accounts.
He was making a great income about $165,000 -$212,000 a year ( his take) yes there were tax returns in the units, now this income does afford a great lifestyle, not a grand one. Ole buddy had three car payments each over $1200.00 per month. Not the proper allocation of funds, that much money on time on a depreciating asset? ( WHEW!!) If they were in the business name I could understand, that is a huge write off, alas they were not.
A second mortgage on his house that note with the regular mortgage was $8524.00 per month! If you have a home you know there is lot more to owning the house than just paying the mortgage.
Mr Big Stuff had huge credit card bills totally over $16,500.00 per month from the statements, ( a clear sign of comingling of the funds) multiple cell phone accounts and oh yeah the mistress. She had the what I term the chick Benz that C 230 black with the Sport Pkg ( the maroni sticker was in the unit)
She also had a house that he was paying the note on, baby girl was FINE, I would have taken her out to dinner but a house and a Benz, we would have been married! Yes it is trickin if you got it! In the end he didn’t have it. Ladies this is how you get a house and Benz from a dude.
Find a guy with a huge ego has great cash flow and is impotent, you see this is the only way he can fuck you. By caking you up like that. If he had real skills he would not have to do all that…..just sayin.
I do not know what happen with her, but damn son not a good look….but she was cute! She probably had a maintenance man on stand by. Mr Bigg was somewhat soft in this department.
This is why he was so angry, can you imagine being him, having it going on (well at one point he did) and nothing in the boxers, seriously that messes with a man’s ego like nothing you ever heard of (back in the day I worked in a Urology office, learned a lot about the what can happen to a man with E.D)
Your business closed, your wife gone, your money gone, your ho gone, the IRS is after you and now some dude named G has all of your shit. (He got in contact with me thru the storage facility) definitely a bummer! I took all of records and stuff back to the office. He wanted to buy some stuff back, as a rule I don’t meet these people are talk to them ( too creepy)
We sold the hell out of his stuff in a week and the next Monday I had the same problem, had some big holes on the floor. What a lovely problem to have. Life as a storage addict can be good believe that!

I was having lunch the other day and there was this segment on CNN about an entrepreneur who could not a get a business loan for expanding his business because of some dings on his personal credit. The dings have been there for a while and have never halted any loan application before the latest and greatest recession since the Great Depression.
I sat at my table shaking my head, he only needs one hundred thousand dollars, and here is someone who is running a successful business, making money that does not know the first thing about business credit.
No, I am not saying a hundred grand is chump change, what I am saying is with his cash flow this is an easy deal. He has a staff of twenty even at minimum wage that is twenty five to thirty thousand a month on payroll, payroll taxes, then the next beast is rent and then food, so this guy in the one hundred thousand dollar a month or more in revenues, thus a million dollar plus a year business.
He has the income to move forward with the loan, it is the new and ultra strict underwriting standards that are tripping him up…and a lack of knowledge. He could get four LOC for twenty five thousand each there are many ways to skin this cat! This is a great example of how you new to plan for your capital needs well in advance; the worst absolute time to apply for money is when you really, really, really need it! Just like dogs smell fear, bankers smell desperation, like thick funky cologne that you poured way too much over your head.
He owns a restaurant which means he takes credit cards, did you know you can get merchant account loan up to two hundred and fifty thousand? Yes, the interest rate is high, but when your back is against the wall an option is better than no option! There is on Deck Capital who can do the loan bases on his case flow. I tried to Google him and get the information to him to no avail.
We as entrepreneurs tend to block out anything that is not related to the business, even some things for the business. When people think of business credit the visual is a venture capitalist, angel or bank loan officer, this is part of it, but there is so much more! With time and a plan you can get a thick business credit profile where you can get everything up to commercial property, they will always look at the FICOs of the owner if the business is small or less than ten years of business operations. Doesn’t be this guy; start building your business credit profile right now!

Doesn’t look like much right this is where I got my first jackpot finds out of this was behind one of my old houses. Just came across the picture the other day. Damn I wish I had saved more pictures! It took me three hours to break into this baby. Fortunatley for me it was a fire safe ( they have cement or ceremic in the walls) the cement enabled me to work my way in. Good thing I was not a stranger to hard work!

I am often asked is there really anything good in storage auctions? Did you make up the stuff on the blog? Really Glendon tell me the truth. Nope I did not make up anything; in fact there is stuff I am not telling, really juicy stuff that would blow your mind!
Yes, I know if it hard to fathom some person letting their stuff go, but it happens thousands of times across the nation every week. Storage auctions are at a all time high! Just look at how many people are losing their homes!
I know one famous singer who lost her stuff, no make that three singers and you would know them by name. Lost some NICE stuff EYE POPPING STUFF!!! I was losing my mind going through the items. There was stuff with names I could not pronounce!
Felt silky too!
Famous people who make a lot of money fast are more likely to lose their stuff than you! Why you ask? For the most part they are just like you in terms of spending habits; many, not all spend it just as fast as it is coming in.
In my opinion if you had over 30 million cash and now you are broke you are a dumbass. I don’t want to hear any of that more money more problems bullshit. It is greed and a lack of control, with a hefty dose of narcissism thrown in to really skew ones perspective!
I even got one well known dudes stuff and he had it in his girl’s name! I tell you what drugs will do to your life. Such a cute girl got caught up in the would be fame of a dude that was smoking his life ( and hers) away. You can never trust a crackhead, the crack will always win!
Enough with the tease
Suge Knight lost his shit at –guess what? A STORAGE AUCTION last month, yes that Suge Knight the guy at one time who was worth MILLIONS!!!! His items went for $4900.00 I am assuming he had three of four units; this was far short of what he owed the storage company. They even sold his draws! Ina plastic baggie ( I would never touch Suge Knight draws, packing them up must have gone to the new guy!)
I know you are scratching your head, how in the hell does this happen?
It is cultural like we hold on to emotional baggage that no longer serves us this matriculates into our physical sphere like water in a flood. Even in this recession there are people paying big money to store stuff they do not need!
The case of Suge Knight is he was someone that was use to living large. He never ever thought the money train would come to a screeching halt, well it derailedl and it his stuff is now being sold or held up as a displayed.

How would you feel if someone bought your stuff , someone else wearing in your clothes, watching your dvds…..reading your love letters??? Rubbing the head of your MTV Moonman? Don’t shake your head it can happen! Just ask Suge.
“Marion Hugh Knight, Jr. (born April 19, 1965), better known as Suge Knight, is the co-founder and former CEO of Death Row Records. The record label rose to dominate the rap charts after Dr. Dre’s breakthrough album The Chronic in 1992. After several years of chart successes for artists including Tupac Shakur, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg andTha Dogg Pound, Death Row Records stagnated after Knight’s incarceration on parole violation charges in September 1996.
Suge Knight’s Furniture, clothing and other possessions of the former Death Row Records‘ Label boss were auctioned off February 20th in Simi Valley, California.
According to reports, “Valuable items, like a large photo of Knight and Tupac Shakur, sold for as little as $100 to lucky bidders, who plan to sell some of the items that were auctioned off on Ebay.”
The auction was due to Suge Knight haven fallen several thousand dollars behind on his storage bill with Conejo Valley Moving & Storage. The auction generated around $4,500, according to Conejo Valley Moving & Storage’s owner, Joe Furmidge. “

More people than you think work on their cars in storage units, I have bought units with BMWs in them and I have seen units with Bentleys tucked away from prying eyes. There is a lot that goes on in that world. The biggest thing I have actually seen in a unit was a fire truck. It was beautiful!
Storage units can be modified to be fully outfitted shops complete with air compressors and pneumatic tools, transmission and engine lifts, the works son; it can be classified as amazing what you will find in storage unit auctions.
Many of these shade tree mechanics leave in those units some really pricey tools; you could say there is passion in this hobby that goes deep. Clear down to the bone, deep enough for a guy to drop 12 gs on some tools and a big red chest to store his shiny tools.
Happens a lot…
This is a case of where I screwed up! The property manager and district manager did not look at this unit that well. There was a tuned Honda Civic in the unit under the bags of clothes and other stuff. The unit was crammed from the Root to the toota.
There were boxes stacked on side to the ceiling and a strange collection of garbage bags stacked in the middle. The bag were fully of pollen, you could tell this stuff was not disturbed since it was placed in the unit.
“Car” was the first thing that came to my mind, when I saw the ‘lie” of the bags, after a while you can guess fairly accurately what is under some bags. I quickly surveyed my competition at the auction.
Pa Clampett was there, we all are looking and I see the outlines of the car, before I could make a move a newbie moves a bag. I knew this was not going to turn out good. Stuff starts falling and it doesn’t reveal the car, but dumbass was given and inch, he took a yard and moved some more bags, before the manager could shut him down. You are not suppose to touch anything….but it does happen.
“Hey there is a car in there!” dumbass screamed like a dude getting some for the first time. In my mind I am Florida Evans DAMN DAMN DAMN!!! If I had just started bidding and knocked my touchy feely out, just maybe…..
To understand my frustration, tuner cars are hot and often expensive to modify, I have seen engines priced between $15-75,000 there is no telling how much that engine was worth. Suspension, hardware there is a lot that goes in the tuner cars.
What is a tuner car you ask?- if you saw the movie 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS you saw a lot of tuner cars. This one was blue sitting on 17s brand new rims and tires, this little ride was clean!
He had the Nitris tanks and really well made seats. It was clear this guy put a lot of money in this car. The sound systems I know was worth a g. However since Mr. New Stuff let the car out of the bag, the manager pulled the unit!
Cars can be very tricky to sell, nine times out of ten there is a lien on the car, which mean the lien holder has first rights to the car…if they can find it.
I am not saying I did this….
However I know a of a guy…well I heard of a guy, yeah that it it, that did this, if you find yourself in a situation where you get a car out of a unit and no one knows you got the car out of the unit. In reality it was never in that unit if you feel my drift.
Say you know a guy with a shop and that guy you heard of knows how to “chop” a car up and part it out. Understand stolen and having a lien on it are two different things. If it is stolen it could get very dicey on a legal tip.
Now if you “honestly” do not know if there a lien on the car and you in good faith part it out, if would be pretty damn hard to pin anything on you. I would not know anything about that, I just heard some thangs. You dig?

Are you down with OPC!
Some folks swear they would never wear the clothing of another person. From my experience of a running thrift store there are thousands that will, some folks look for pre-owned first. Avoiding the mall at every juncture.
I was warned when I got in the business I would get a lot of clothes. Boy! That was the truth man! There was a plus in this; a huge plus I learned clothing is one of the biggest sellers on the planet. Who do you know that doesn’t wear clothes? Exactly!
I have a friend that owns a consignment shop and she does a phenomenal business selling mostly clothing, in this recession her business went up 30% if you know anything about having a store you know 30% is like unheard of in increased business without increasing you store size, marketing or something. Call it a sign of the times. Cost containment is sexy.
A much unexpected byproduct of being a storage unit addict is how much new gear you can get for yourself. There is nothing like opening a box of new Polo gear in your size with tags still hanging. Christmas on Tuesday!
To this day I do not understand why someone would buy new clothes, never wear those new clothes and then put those items in a storage unit to only lose new clothing they never wore. Damn strange if you ask me! From tops to bottoms I have seen it all.
Boggles my imagination to no end…
This is happens far more than you know. We are a society of clothes whores, many people have a closet or two with clothing they have not worn in years! I dated a chic that had a spare room full of clothes, I am not kidding! If you do not have a spare room to house your couture where does this stuff end up?
In a storage unit of course, with the white xmas tree and the large white stuffed animal that guy you kinda of sorta liked but he was popcorn, so you ditched him but kept the bear for some strange reasons. We have got to be the biggest nation of clothes whores on the planet!
Some auction folks throw the clothes away or donate them. We actually had someone go through everything; you would be amazed at what sells. It can be funny what you find in those clothes, cash, jewelry, letters (I love letters) guns, a lot of chain and gum….tons of gum. The cats from Philly were good on the mints!
I use to be very casual about clothing, during the course of cleaning out units you rip soil and just really wear out a lot of clothing. I would wear my best gear, because I knew I could replace it faster than I wore it out! When you know sooner or later you are going to get some wonderful stuff it makes you flinch when you see a pair of jeans in the mall for $120.00
“120.00!!!! for some jeans! I can a whole new wardrobe form $120.00” I have done that a 100 times in my mind, storage unit auctions can make you very thrifty. Sometimes extremely thrifty to the point of comedy, many long time auctions hounds have not seen the inside of a mall or store in decades.
I remember one cat saying “if it was not in a bin I don’t want it”- scary!
One of the joys of living in the A, is so many people regardless of their social economical status are going to have some rocking gear. I cannot count how many units I bought for $10.00 dollars or less that I got 30-50 pieces of fly gear to rock. Once I got bored with it, I would recycle it through the store.
Apparently I had really good taste; the stuff I recycled usually would sell within a few days of hitting the sales floor. Most of my former storage locker gear sold the fist day. Sometimes I would hide it to see if the regulars would find it. Yes, I am twisted like that.
Women are the most beautiful and caring creatures on the earth unless you are talking about shoes! I can not count how many women would get in a tiff or worse because someone would be trying to get an item they had set aside.
We got a fashonista’s unit and the girl was a 10-12 and shoe size 8.5-9 this is a really sweet spot in terms of the sizes that sell. Sista girl must have had well over two thousand articles of clothing in her units and maybe close to hundred pair of shoes.
CHA- CHING!
She had a pair of leather boots that were wicked, never heard of the name and she must have picked them up in Europe. They were black, with laced backs and sliver toe clip and heel point. Had a very chic urban feel, two women almost came to blows over those boots!
I am at the counter wondering who should I put my money on, the skinny girl with the tats or the short fire plug of a woman. I was thinking slim would pull it out she had a young money criminal look about her and you know that saying it is not the size of the gangsta chick but the size of the gangsta in the chick, slim looked like she would shank you quick.
It was getting ugly, so I stepped in and suggest they try the shoes on before they got into thrift store smack down. The short one could not get the boots over her large calves and the skinny one started doing the happy dance when she saw this. Shorty just walked off hissing “bitch” lil bit was like “I am the bitch with the fly boots!”
There is a lot that happens in a store, believe me.
We got a lot name brand items form the units. Some of the price tags were eye popping. I have held in my little pudgy fingers $120 t shirts, $450 dollar jeans, $1000.00 dollar shoes, $ 450.00 scarves and the list goes on and on.
If this stuff was not 100% straight in terms of style, be defect free it did not go on eBay. I will say some eBay buyers can be a pain in the ass. They want perfection and speed for a penny. It does not matter if it is clearly noted in the listing that there is scratch, spot or some other defect. Some will gloss over it.
They received it and want their money back; this is HUGE on the clothing side. So be warned if you want to sell clothing on eBay, it is profitable but know you will be dealing with some personalities.
In a word OPC makes money.

Please note that proper planning will eliminate the stress of last minute planning. If you are not fully ready to embark of your business, do the framework. Research the business, name, the business, incorporate the business. Some of these tasks can be quite time consuming, by doing the tasks or research right now while you are not being pulled at each and every corner by the demands of your business, is a blessing in disguise. You would be wise to make the best use of this time!
I am still in the early stages of building a business credit profile for my new business, which will business number nine. I am starting from scratch and will chart my progress in this blog, new LLC , EIN, the works the only thing that makes me different from you is knowledge, which you will gain by staying tuned to this blog.
There is no rush to build this profile, since I know treading the waters of business credit in 2009 is a little tricky. Let’s, not mistake my patience attitude for a lack of urgency, there is great level of urgency, experience has taught me it is better to measure twice , perhaps three times than to measure once and cut twice.
This climate is so unlike any other I have had to face in my professional and business career.
The business credits cram down on credit line limits and accounts went into over drive this year and late last year. Simply put all levels and types of credit were in jeopardy of review and credit line decrease or closure. However, there are signs of life. One of my former coworkers from way back when I had a job, which strangely enough has been nine years! Hmm…ninth business, nine years since I had a job maybe there is something to that, perhaps not. We will see!
Well he took some advice from me years ago, he never really started the business credit building process, he just registered a new LLC , this was in 2004, he paid the yearly fee and did nothing else for the business until this summer.
Due to the crappy economy he lost his job and got a decent severance package, nothing to live lavishly on, but he could make it a year without working with careful budgeting. So those old dreams of entrepreneurship came roaring back with a vengeance. He gave in to the calling; I think it is a calling to become an entrepreneur. Some consider it a curse! His outlook on getting a job was not that viable and he surmised if his business took off after a year he would be okay. Entrepreneurs tend to be quite optimistic!
He informed me of this information after he started the business and I thought to myself this better be one hell of a business to take off and provide a living income after a year. He gave me the details and based on his knowledge of the industry I think he has a good shot of making it go; however those time tables may need a little adjusting.
Base on the information I gave him years ago, in an email of all things, he begin building his business credit profile. He had the checking account; a number registered in 411 essentially the basics. Within in two months, he had the following.
Uline-net 30
UPS-net 30
Verizon –net 30
Staples 1500
Best Buy 2500
Lowes 1250
Key Bank 4500
I got to say I was more than impressed! He got his net 30s in and I know all of those guys report. They did for me. How did he do it? After a few questions I found out. One thing I knew he had going for him was corporate age, inc’ed since 2004 and his business telephone number was with AT&T which reports and he was never late. The T Mobile phone he carries was in the LLC name, apparently he forgot about that! So, time, and two accounts reporting got him to this level after two months! Did he have a paydex?
Who knows, he did not even deal with DNB! He left that area blank on his applications! I would advise anyone to know what your DNB file looks life before seeking business credit. After our little chat he has signed up with DNB and Experian to know what his scores and profiles look like to a potential creditor. I am not going to say he was lucky, he knew he did not apply for anything so it should have been in good shape, I guess he was right!
I do not believe he could have pulled this off in December 2008, credit granters were cutting the limits or eliminating the credit accounts of people with great payment histories that had never been late. So new and unproven was not going to cut it.
I also believe to the shock and awe of many people that the government stimulus plans and monetary polices are moving us out of this mess quicker than if we did nothing at all, therefore giving people hope and people with hope spend money.
People spend money, business ramp up again and our economy starts to improve. Check out theCash for Clunkers program effect on the car business. Which we all know for months has been deplorable!
Are these government plans without flaw? Of course not but we as a country will survive, we always do.
Do I expect to see the levels of commerce we all witness since 9/11? No, not even close, however for those with a dream that fulfils a need or a requirement of the masses and the energy and courage to move it from the dream stage to reality the future is bright. I think the future is very bright for my friend, he seems like a different person, but chasing a dream will do that for you.
I also think that the big freeze is thawing out, now it is just a trickle, however to a thirsty man a steady trickle of water will do just fine.

The A is full of folks with big dreams and tons of ambition, some of these people with stars in their eyes will do what ever it takes to make the magic happen.
Even illegal shit!
One of the interesting things that you find out by buying storage units at auction is the depths that man will go to make a W-A-S ( wild ass scheme) come to fruition. It will make you just laugh your ass off. Some of the strange shit I have seen still blows my mind.
I have bought so many units where people have committed mortgage fraud to get a crib to the rank and file id thief (there are tons of these guys) Human nature is a wicked beast at its worst leading folks to achieve those means by any source possible.
This brings us to Mr. Bootleg
This brotha was in it to win it, then the rent was due, car note and that chic with the kids that looked like him, she was not playing. Cleary dude’s choice in career and women were …..somewhat lacking!
During the end of my first year in the business, I got my introduction to the world of bootleg processing and distribution. I almost did not go out, it was a cold day and I really just wanted to stay in the bed all day, some days are like that. But I willed myself to get up, go out and get something.
I got his unit in East Point GA for a sum of $350.00, it was an okay looking 10 x20 but someone had gone through it. The stuff was tossed all over the place. But I saw a least a grand in name brand clothing and some old Jordans (Old Jordans – $$$$$) the stuff was clean, and it looked to be 70% full, not much of a risk. His rapper apparel sold for $2200 over two months on eBay
I know this because many people put their bills in the unit, (he was one) the old out of sight out of mind theory? Just because you can’t see them doesn’t mean the bill fairy will not be looking for your ass!
Enough fragments of his life story were in there to piece together his tale of crime and punishment Dostoevsky would have been proud! It seems all wanna be rappers keep journals (aka notebooks from the Dollar Store)
He worked hard, he did all the right things,( if you call making horrible music right) and so he had to do what he had to do! It is amazing how folks can justify illegal stuff to make a wrong oh so right.
He had all of the equipment to record, mix and press his own music. I never knew how much recording equipment cost until I got his unit. He also had the dvd duplication stuff, label maker, graphic software and a old imac ( his graphics were tight, maybe he should have kept it there) printers and three desktops. With a sprinkle of peripherals
Cha-Ching!
His stuff was gone within an hour of putting it on CL. I mean paid and picked up! One girl bought half of his stuff; she had the B-girl look from backed in the day and walked like she had some stuffin in cushion. A cute girl with loot that has my name on it always makes my day!
Hopefully her flow and hooks are more captivating than Mr Bootleg, I listened for a four seconds and it was a no, American Idol will never be calling this cat, but a dude named Lester may have him as his bitch at the moment. The reason his stuff went up for auction was he was in the pokey for larceny.
His stuff/music was in the can, garbage can that is, I thought it was terrible (there were several hundred copies of his cd in the unit) he was a hopeful sort that just knew he was going to be the next Diddy or Hova, alas he was not even on the same continent with those guys.
Once he realized that is music career was in the slow lane to nowhere, he adopted a new business strategy. He was accustomed to slangin that music (he was kinda of scary lookin aka DJ Boogerwolf) so I think the few copies he sold were due to sympathy or perhaps fear. After dismal record sales and little hopes of securing money for a tour, he hatched this plane to be the bootleg king of the south.
With a new found enthusiasm he became Bootlegger extraordinaire perhaps you have seen his work on your own dvd player. Yes, the ones with the people walking across the screen. He dig in with gusto, kept records of his sales and costs, dude was making $1900 a week, he was the wholesaler, he just copied, press and distributed the bootlegs, actually forward thinking compared to how he tried to move his music.
For strange reason he decide to rip someone off and he got caught, thus putting him out of business. I am really surprised he had no one to bail him out, doesn’t everyone love the bootleg man?
So next time you see that guy in the parking lot or he comes up to you in the salon, just know you may be getting a first rate dup from Mr. Bootleg!

This should be a dear Glendon Piece! I wrote it a while ago and never posted it!
The things I use to do!
Lately I have been totally engrossed in Mafia Wars on Facebook, don’t started playing it can be addictive. You have been warned.
During one of my breaks from the book and goooooooooooood round of Mafia Wars I smoked some dudes! Ha!
I got a email from “Stan” essentially he was going on and on about how he has never gotten the stuff out of storage units that I have stated in my YouTube videos to bring out of the rooms. He has been going to the auctions for three years.
I pondered for a minute and I hit him back. “How many rooms do you buy a month?”
About an hour later I get this.
“I don’t buy one every month, it has got to be good before I spend my money on it. I got six so far this year.” It is now September!
I almost fell out of my chair! How can you expect to win the game if you don’t play?
Six units! I have bought more than that in one day! The law of averages is not in your favor when there are no averages!
Stan, Stan Stan
Look my man, this is the dealo. First you have to get rid of that loser mentality, you are in California, I know people in Cali who do this and make CEO money, so you are full of it!
You have what I call the lottery mentality one grand unit is going to solve all of your problems, once you hit it big you will buy more units with house money. There is one problem with your little. Plan it s highly unrealistic! Sure I have hit some grand slam home runs with units, but 90% of my money came from regular old units.
Think base hits, not home runs, usually it is base hits that wins the game of baseball and in this business the same premise holds true. There is a certain amount of failure in every successful business, believe that! I will finish this up tomorrow and yes another video is coming kids!

 Storage Unit Auctions
Just like everyone I saw the commercials, said cool commercials to myself and that was about it. It really does not hit you until you need it. I was working on projects all over town and some of my hotspots were getting very crappy in terms of reliability and outlet access. (if you need a strong and reliable hot spot the Dancing Goats Coffee Bar in Decatur is great)
I just came out of a contract with Verizon on the air card which with junk fees is almost $70 large per month, but I missed my mobile connect….bad! What is the old saying “luxuries once tasted become necessities” But between two houses and internet bills for both, I need to pair down so the air card was out.
In a fit of disgust I fired Comcast, they went down all day and I had to go work in a Starbucks, nothing against Starbucks but it was not working for me. I saw a Clear side walk sign and went in to find out more. I researched Clear, just never acted on it.
The rep was cool and asked me where I lived, I had to use my in town place, the Stone Mountain address would not fly for their services ( I get 3 bars and about 2.5 mbs which kills the air card 380-750 kbs specs) in Stone Mountain.
I was in and out in about 10 mins, I bought the equipment, to rent it is double the cost of out right purchase. Ran some more errands and went home (East Lake) and I was up and blazin in about 15 mins. I could not tell the difference between my Clear and Comcast for me there it is just that fast. I got the 25 dollar per month special, so it was great all of the way around.
Remembering all of the crap I went through with Comcast on a so called plug and play deal I bought at Best Buy ( it took 3 hours to get it up and running) this was painless. We are entering the third month and not one issue. I can get on any where I normally go, today I kissed Comcast good by in the second house, I got rid of them the day they went down in East Lake. So I cut my communication bill by 200 bucks per month this year so I am happy as hell! I highly recommend Clear!
I put this out there for those of you that need a cost effective mobile internet solution, if it is in your area I say go for it! You can use it at home and out in the field, which is hot!
